2025 Carnegie Classifications

Helene Fuld College of Nursing has been recognized in the 2025 Carnegie Classifications, a respected national framework that recognizes institutional mission and student outcomes in higher education.

As part of this update:

  • Our college is classified under the Institutional Classification as a Special Focus: Nursing institution, a category shared by just 6% of U.S. colleges and universities.
  • We have also been recognized in the new Student Access and Earnings Classification as one of the nation’s Opportunity Colleges and Universities—Higher Access, Higher Earnings. Awarded to about 16% of all classified institutions, this designation identifies institutions that serve a diverse and representative student population and help graduates achieve higher wage earnings outcomes.

This recognition reaffirms our commitment to:

  • Providing a dynamic career ladder approach to nursing education, enabling individuals to enhance their education and improve their nursing practice.
  • Contributing to the health of communities by preparing high-quality, technically adaptable nurses who can function effectively in a changing society.
  • Advancing professional learning and development, ensuring our graduates are equipped to meet the evolving challenges of the healthcare environment.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the American Council on Education (ACE) developed the new Carnegie Classifications, using the most recent national data from IPEDS, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the College Scorecard.
