COLLEGE SERVICES
INTERNET WEBSITES/E-MAIL
In addition to the Learning Center’s internal website (see Learning Center, page 43 of the catalog) the College maintains two additional websites: www.helenefuld.edu which contains general background information on the College and acts as a portal for the other website: www.sonisweb.som, where students may access course schedules, grades, bills, etc. All students are assigned user identification numbers and email addresses upon entering the program. Only assigned Helene Fuld College of Nursing email addresses must be used to contact Helene Fuld faculty and staff. College e-mail addresses will be retained for six months after graduation.

ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT
The faculty and staff of Helene Fuld College of Nursing work with students as individuals and adult learners, providing services that will assist them to attain the objectives of the program. On admission, each student is assigned to a faculty member for academic advisement and individual help. Students are urged to take the initiative in seeking advisement. It is the student's responsibility to see that he/she is maintaining a satisfactory academic status and is meeting college requirements.
TUTORING
Tutoring is available weekly in all science courses, including the pre-requisite Selected Topics in Chemistry and Mathematics course. Tutoring in nursing courses is available upon request. Tutors are available for one-on-one sessions to provide guidance and to support student writing.
PRE-ENTRANCE PREP PROGRAM
The pre-entrance prep program is a series of six-week prep courses designed to prepare applicants for admission to the College. Classes are offered in math, reading, writing, and nursing. For more information call 212-616-7249.
COUNSELING SERVICES
The college mental health counselor primary mission is to support the institution’s students and address their needs through individual counseling. Students can receive ongoing counseling or short-term counseling, which is confidential and free of charge. Additionally, the Counselor will refer students to other appropriate agencies if needed or requested, and acts as a student advocate or ombudsperson. The Counselor also periodically conducts time- and stress-management workshops.

The College Counselor’s hours are flexible. Appointments with the Counselor can be made by calling 212-616-7264, sending an e-mail to Karla.Fallon@helenefuld.edu, or in person by stopping by Room 318.
HEALTH REFERRAL SERVICES
Any student who is injured in the College must report this to a faculty member or administrator at the time the incident occurs. An Incident Report will be filed and “911” will be called, if necessary.

Students who have health emergencies that occur during an off-campus clinical experience are referred by the clinical instructor to the affiliating agency's Emergency Department and/or a private physician.

The College does not assume responsibility for dental care, hospitalization, or treatment of health problems. Students are strongly encouraged to obtain and maintain their own health insurance.
